What a PG actually costs in Delhi NCR

What this is

4130 verified PG and co-living listings across 5 Delhi NCR cities, as they stood in October 2026. Every figure below is a median asking rent per person per month, and every one of them is printed with the number of listings it was computed from.

Three things it is not. It is not the whole market — it is PG Bazar's verified catalogue, which is concentrated in Gurugram and Noida. It is not what people pay — it is what owners ask, before anyone negotiates. And it excludes the 4130 listings' unverified siblings entirely: a number worth quoting cannot rest on rows nobody has checked.

Median rather than average, because a single serviced flat filed as a PG moves an average for a whole sector and moves a median not at all.

One number to read carefully. Where a PG prices several kinds of room, the city and sector figures above use its cheapest bed — that is what "rent" means in the catalogue, and it held for 954 of the 954 verified listings that price their rooms individually. So a sector median of ₹24,000 is the cheapest bed at the middle PG there, not the price of a room of your own. What a room of your own costs is further down, and it is not close.

By city

Girls pay more than boys for the same sector

Across the catalogue, the median girls' PG asks ₹9,000 against ₹8,000 for boys — 13% more, over 311 and 289 listings.

On its own that number would mostly be measuring where girls' PGs are rather than what they cost, so here it is with location taken out completely — the same sector, both genders, side by side. Girls' PGs are dearer in 15 of 21 sectors where the catalogue holds at least 3 of each.

We are publishing what the catalogue says, not a cause. A girls' PG more often comes with a warden, a gate closing at a set hour and meals included, and any of those costs money to run; so does the fact that fewer buildings offer it at all. Which of those is doing the work is not something 600 asking prices can settle.

A single room asks ₹16,250 against ₹7,000 for a 4 sharing — 2.3 times as much for the same building, the same food and the same commute.
